Red and Yellow Raspberry Plants
Prelude:
Earliest of the summer bearing reds. Majority of the crop ripens in late June and Early July. Fruit is round, sized similar to Canby and Killarney, and has a mild pleasant flavor. Productivity on par or slightly greater than Canby. Ideally suited to be “first to market” for U-Pick and farm market operations. (Has immediately followed late season strawberries in Upstate NY).
Hardy to Zone 5.

Boyne:
Very popular early season variety ripening first two weeks in July. Fruit is round, dark-red medium sized slightly smaller than Prelude, possessing an aromatic quality. One of the most consistent producers year after year with good yields the norm. Boyne has a distinct moderately tart flavor. Berries are easy picking and excellent for freezing. Excellent over-wintering qualities.
Hardy to Zone 4.

Latham:
An old standard eastern cultivar ripening mid-season in during the second and third weeks in July. Vigorous plant with medium to small size fruit with nice color, good firmness and flavor. Latham has an extended harvest period. Tolerates several known viruses with minimal effects. Excellent choice for home garden or small farm market in colder climates.
Hardy to Zone 4

Titan:
Largest fruited of available red varieties. Fruit ripens second through fourth week in July. This very productive cultivar has performed well in the Northeast and in replicated trials in several areas of the Northwest. Fruit is very large, conically shaped, with a mild flavor. Attractive berry for restaurant or specialty market sales. Titan has shown susceptibility to *Phytophthora root rot and is therefore not suited to wet or poorly drained soils, and over-winters poorly on wet soils due to the Phytophthora issue.
Hardy to Zone 5 with proper soil selection.

Encore:
Unique in that it ripens the majority of its fruit in late July and early August (follows Titan). This variety is an excellent choice for growers wishing to bridge the gap between traditional summer fruiting reds and Heritage. Encore is very productive (only slightly less so than Titan) with conically shaped fruit processing a well-balanced pleasantly mild flavor and excellent firmness. Encore has outstandingly consistent large fruit size through-out its harvest season; (fruit size does not decrease with continued pickings). Moderate tolerance to Phytophthora root rot.
Hardy to Zone 5.
